SANE WP2 Modeling Workshop and Apros Training

We are delighted to announce the upcoming SANE WP2 Modeling Workshop and Training on APROS Software, taking place from January 20th to 23rd, 2025, at VTT, Espoo, and online. This exclusive event is designed for consortium members, marking a key milestone in our collaborative efforts to advance the project.


Event Overview

The event will consist of two main components:

  1. APROS Training (January 20-21, 2025)
  2. The first two days will feature comprehensive training on Apros software, tailored to participants who will actively use the program in the project. This hands-on training will establish a strong foundation for effective modeling and ensure participants are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed.
  3. Modeling Workshop (January 22-23, 2025)
  4. The workshop will bring together consortium members to explore technical topics, share preliminary results, and plan next steps.

The workshop will begin on Wednesday, January 22nd,and focus on the phenomena and characteristics of LDR lite, with key contributions from VTT experts. Participants will delve into topics such as modeling of the containment vessel, insights from Task 2.1, and a preliminary list of DBC cases to be analyzed. The day will conclude with a session on verification and validation of models.

On Thursday, January 23rd, the focus will shift to participant presentations and open discussions. The day will offer an opportunity for attendees to showcase their work, share insights, and engage in collaborative planning. 

 

Aims and Outcomes

The SANE WP2 Modeling Workshop is more than just an event—it is a key initiative designed to:

  • Create a collaborative space where senior experts can mentor students and actively contribute to the project.
  • Facilitate the development of impactful master’s and dissertation thesis topics, emerging directly from workshop activities.
  • Lay the groundwork for a mobility programme across partner organizations, enabling up to three-month research stays.

The workshop promises to be an engaging and productive experience, driving meaningful contributions to the project and setting the stage for future success.
